Traditional Living Room

Colors of sand and sea were the initial inspiration for the living room of this Dutch Colonial. A beautiful blue grass cloth was the first decision made, followed by the individual pieces of furniture. The furnishings and fabrics that came together perfectly gave the room a French feel.

Sometimes one inspiration leads to another as shown in the ceiling treatment which mimics the design on the side chair. The little orangey pop of color in the chair provided the complimentary accent color on the pillows and back wall of the bookcases. This space became a tranquil getaway to curl up with a good book by the fire or share with family and friends.
